What you many not realize is cats do not have a very strong thirst drive, which means, that when their bodies are thirsty, they don't necessarily know it. Sound like a design flaw? What you may not know is that cats are designed to ingest water with their food; they are designed to get most of their water from their prey, which is about 75% water. Dry cat foods contain, on average, about 10% water. Canned cat food has approximately 78% water. Which do think is a better match for you cat? You bet - the canned food.
Kidney and bladder problems are very common in cats, precisely because of the dehydrated states many felines find themselves in.
To your cat's health!
